Second Time's the Charm! USCIS Announces Second CAP H-1B lottery

On July 30th, 2024, USCIS announced a second lottery will be held soon to fill the regular cap H-1B allocation for FY 2025. Here are the essentials you need to know:

• USCIS will soon select additional registrations for unique beneficiaries from previously submitted electronic H-1B registrations using a lottery process

• USCIS will notify prospective petitioners with selected registrations from the second H-1B lottery that they are eligible to file an H-1B cap-subject petition for the beneficiary named in the applicable selected registration

• USCIS noted the second lottery will include registrations previously submitted under the master’s cap as well as those submitted under the regular cap

• USCIS will announce when they have completed selections and notifications for the second CAP H-1B lottery
